In the heart of Salento, land of the sun, the sea and the wind, among centuries-old olive trees and an amazing Mediterranean vegetation, you can find Tenuta Monacelli, a 17th century fortified farmhouse along with Masseria Giampaolo, dating back to the 15th century, both with their long history etched in the stones of the ancient towers whose memory is lost in the centuries. They have both recently carefully restored keeping the charm of the noble countryside houses.
Located just 15 km from Lecce, the capital of Salento in the heart of Baroque, Tenuta Monacelli E Masseria Giampaolo are fully immersed in 320 hectares (790 acres about) of olive trees, in an untouched nature of a wood full of pathways and are just a stone’s throw away from the many spectacular white sandy beaches along the Ionian and Mediterranean Sea. The farmhouses are also extremely close to to the famous Abbey of Santa Maria in Cerrate, an ancient feud keeping its charm unchanged, and border the vast natural park of Rauccio.
Tenuta Monacelli E Masseria Giampaolo are two architectural jewels set in a wild and untouched nature where history and modernity live as one. They both offer to their guests an oasis of peace , wellness and relaxation thanks to the park, the massage room and the gym.
You can find a suggestive and charming outdoor swimming pool, completely absorbed in the green colour of the olive trees
The two farmhouses have 25 elegant and refined bedrooms and suites with private bathroom; all rooms are full of confort and style with an eye to particular details and are equipped with hairdryer, satellite-TV, direct dial telephone, minibar, courtesy beauty kit, in room safe, heating and air conditioning.
Bed and Breakfast is the basic formula but, upon request, half and full board formulas are also available.
The jewel of our farmhouses is the restaurant with its summer terrace “Rifugio del Re” serving genuine local dishes from the traditional Salentina and Puglia home-cooking style which our chefs are masterfully able to offer along with the Italian and international cuisine.
